Geering Up’s mission is to make STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) exciting and accessible for ALL students! We are dedicated to empowering and inspiring B.C. youth to explore STEM, so we offer summer camps for participants entering grades 1-12 at our UBC Okanagan campus located in Kelowna! These dynamic, 4 and 5 day camps feature hands-on experiments and creative projects that spark curiosity and foster a love for STEM. Designed to be beginner-friendly and fun, our programs provide the perfect introduction to the world of innovation. Explore our 2026 offerings below!

Our camps are for participants entering grades 1-12. When selecting a camp, register your child for the grade they will be entering in September 2026. - Program Pricing: $292 – $430
Our camp pricing varies by the camp theme and length of the week selected. We believe that every person should be able to participate in our programs, and so we offer a bursary program. Please see our bursary page for more information and to apply. - Before & After Care Pricing:

Little Innovators Adventure Camp
Calling all curious kids, your STEM adventure starts here!
Join us as we explore the amazing worlds of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math through playful experiments, creative building challenges, and lots of hands‑on discoveries. From bubbling chemistry fun to simple physics, early robotics, and more, this camp is designed to spark excitement and confidence in our youngest innovators as they get ready for Grade 1.

Nature Builders Adventure Camp
Nature’s little engineers, get ready to explore, design, and build!
From the cozy curve of a bird’s nest to the sturdy structure of a beaver’s dam, engineering is all around us in the natural world. In this camp, our budding builders will discover how animals solve problems, then use those ideas to create imaginative designs of their own. With hands‑on activities, teamwork, and lots of creative problem‑solving, campers will learn, play, and gain confidence every step of the way.

Integrated Engineering

Each day spotlights a different branch of engineering, giving you the chance to design, test, problem‑solve, and see how engineers tackle challenges in the world.

Explorations in Engineering
Step into the world of engineering, your future starts here!
Explorations in Engineering is your week‑long, sneak peek into what it’s really like to study Engineering at UBC Okanagan. Tour labs, operate equipment, and connect directly with the professors and researchers shaping tomorrow’s technologies. You’ll hear from undergraduate students about their exciting work, take part in hands‑on design challenges, and experience campus life from the inside out. By the end of the week, you’ll have a clearer picture of the question: “What does it actually mean to study Engineering at UBCO?”
Join this program if you are considering post‑secondary Engineering pathways or anyone fascinated by how innovation, design, and problem‑solving help shape our world. Come explore, ask big questions, and discover where engineering could take you next.

Please read the information below regarding our policies in place for camps this year.
Registration for each camp will close at 11:59PM on the Thursday the week before camps begin (i.e., if the camp begins Monday, July 13th, registration for it will close on Thursday, July 9th at 11:59PM)

Camp Hours: 9:00am - 3:00 pm
Grade Level: Register for the grade that your camper will be entering in the fall of 2026.
Recess & Lunch: Participants will get outside for approximately a 30-minute recess and hour-long lunch each day*
Activities: In our camps we will have a variety of activities including engineering building challenges, coding projects, experiments, creative design projects, and more.
Before & After Care: For campers entering grades 1-10, we offer before and after care options along with our camps to try and accommodate the busy lives of parents/guardians. Before care runs each day of the camp (except for the first day) from 8am to 9am, and after care runs each day from 3pm to 4pm. Parents may purchase either option with their registration.
