Instructor Positions

Full-Time Workshops and Camps Instructor (Currently Closed)
Full-time Workshop and Camps Instructors will travel to schools around the Okanagan to lead STEAM workshops with a co-instructor for approximately 6 weeks. After workshop season, these instructors will transition to deliver week-long STEAM day-camps on and off-campus.

Full-Time Camps Instructor (Currently Closed)
Full-time Camps Instructors are key pieces to our Okanagan team and will deliver week-long STEAM day-camps on and off-campus with a co-instructor.

Student Assistant Positions


Part-Time/Full-Time Programming Student Assistant (Applications Open)
Part-time/Full-Time Student Assistants use their mixture of teaching and administrative skills to support Instructors, as well as develop and deliver Geering Up clubs, events, outreach, camps, and other associated programming on and off campus. These positions typically run from September to April (part-time only), or January to August (part-time and full-time)* and applications open in August and October.

FAQs

Geering Up is an organization that exists to bring STEAM programming to youth across BC regardless of their background. To achieve this, Geering Up provides in-school workshops, summer camps, weekend clubs, events, and outreach. Our instructor team plans and delivers this fantastic content.

Yes! In the same way that STEAM is multi-disciplinary, we hire staff who bring knowledge in a variety of areas. Preference is given to those with experience teaching, but we encourage everyone to apply.

Yes! However, please be advised that our positions work with young children. If you are an international student on a work permit, a completed medical exam is required prior to your start date for these positions. Please refer to the Government of Canada website or contact your local visa office for additional information.

Given these uncertain times, we may choose to not hire some of the above roles. We encourage everyone to apply! We will connect with applicants who applied for roles which we have had to alter or drop to see if they are interested in other available positions.

Student Assistants are the title we give to our staff who help out with our administration team. They often directly oversee a project, which could include supervising a group of Instructors.
