Clubs Instructors will work in pairs to prepare activities and lead sessions for the youth in the clubs.
The Local Events Instructor delivers Geering Up’s event programming on and off-campus during the academic year.
Camps Curriculum Student Assistant
The Camps Curriculum Student Assistant leads the development of Geering Up’s science, engineering, and technology curriculum. The Camps Curriculum Student Assistant supports a team of Camps Curriculum Planner creating the summer camp content.
The Camps Student Assistant supports the Camps Coordinator in the school year set-up of the Geering Up summer camps.
The Clubs Student Assistant will aid in the supervision of our on-campus Saturday morning clubs, the clubs instructors, the clubs high school volunteers, and all clubs participants.
This position is an opportunity to gain experience in the field of STEM outreach, supply procurement, and inventory management
Off-Site Camps Student Assistant
The Off-Site Camps Student Assistant helps to lead the set-up of the Geering Up summer camps in all of our off-site locations: Surrey, Richmond, North Vancouver.
The Outreach Student Assistant supports Geering Up programming outside the UBC-Vancouver, UBC-Okanagan, and Satellite locations.
Podcast Production Student Assistant
The Podcast Production Student Assistant leads the production of Geering Up’s “Youth In STEM” Podcast.
The Publicity Student Assistant oversees Geering Up’s website, graphic design, media releases, and public relations.
Staff Recruitment Student Assistant
The Staff Recruitment Student Assistant supports the Coordinators in the hiring of Geering Up Instructors.
The Video Content Creator assists in the video content creation cycle, working with senior staff to script videos, then filming themselves on camera, and helping to provide feedback on the edited videos.
The Volunteer Student Assistant helps lead Geering Up’s volunteer Junior Instructor position
Web Development Student Assistant
The Web Development Student Assistant oversees the updating, editing, and management of Geering Up’s web presence
Workshops Curriculum Student Assistant
The Workshops Curriculum Student Assistant leads the development of Geering Up’s science, engineering, and technology curriculum for our in-school workshops.
The Workshops Student Assistant is the face of Geering Up to teachers and schools, booking and scheduling workshops over 700 workshops.
This internship is designed to provide Indigenous youth with the knowledge and experience to teach STEM topics.

During the process of filling out the application form you will be asked for a brief summary of your relevant work/volunteer experience and a PDF of your resume. Instructor applicants will be asked to attach a YouTube video link (more info in FAQ’s below).
